Lickstone IMIMA Vitamin Plus Selen 3kg

Vitamin Plus Selen is a lick stone with Mediterranean sea salt as a base, to which vitamin A, D3, E and selenium have been added. The soils of our pastures in north-west Europe contain little selenium. Hay in the Netherlands contains an average of 65 mcg selenium per kg dry matter. When an adult horse eats unlimited hay, it will eat approximately 10 kg of hay, and will therefore have ingested 650 mcg selenium, which is equal to 0.65 mg. An adult horse that does not exert itself already needs 1 mg selenium per day. Horses that exert themselves a lot, such as sports horses, already need 1.5 to 2 mg selenium per day. You can easily see from the above calculation that practically all horses develop a selenium deficiency, what does this do to your horse?
Before you take drastic steps in your diet, it is also good to know what your horse is getting, selenium may have been added to the concentrates, you can see in a blood test whether the selenium levels are good, too high or too low in your horse. You can also have your hay tested for selenium, this is not included in a standard test, but laboratories do offer this.
An overdose of selenium is also undesirable because it is toxic to your horse. Always seek advice from a veterinarian or nutritionist before adding selenium to your ration.

Imima lick stones are enriched with various minerals and vitamins that address specific problems for your horse.
A horse naturally has a high need for minerals and vitamins. In the current way of keeping horses, horses get far fewer minerals and vitamins than a horse in nature. But how do you supplement the right amount of all minerals and vitamins? Your horse will help you!
Imima has a whole line with all kinds of different mineral stones with different additives. By offering them in a buffet form, your horse will use the stones that it needs at that moment, so your horse will tell you what it needs!
We are extremely enthusiastic about this concept. You can start with a basic package of 4 stones, and supplement with stones that you think your horse needs, we also have a package tailored to the needs of your horse in the winter, and a package with stones that help your horse through the summer!
